Types of Photography

Timothy O'Sullivan, J. K. Hillers, and W. H. Jackson were early photographers who captured images from their expeditions to the new frontiers in the American West. Roger Fenton, a British photographer, took pictures of the Crimean conflict in 1853-1856. Mathew Brady's, an American photographer who took pictures during the American Civil War, captured graphic photographs of corpses and of the war.
